It’s funny and amazing how things unfold in life…. I started making Hot Honey because my friends over at Lulu’s Cafe in Grant’s Pass asked me to make one for them and the wheels started turning. I reached out to my Farmer’s Market friends and got connected with an awesome guy named Mike to source 100% raw, high-quality honey. To my surprise, the honey industry sometimes cuts honey with water, or with sugar, and can still call it honey :( You’re never going to find me doing anything like that!
But what I did do was add some apple cider vinegar, Joey’s Hot Sauce, my homemade habanero salt, and crushed red pepper to bring in some flavor and heat! This Hot Honey takes you on a journey! People love it on pizza, chicken wings, and pork loin. I love it drizzled on broccolini with some coconut aminos, giving it somewhat of an Asian flare, but one of my favorite things to do is to take homemade waffles, top them with ice cream and drizzle that Hot Honey all over it on top. OMG. The possibilities are endless—enjoy!!
